Underlying Causes Of Hair Loss In Women
by Jason Smith
The United States today has an estimated 30 million women who suffer with the problem of hair loss according to the American Academy of Dermatology. This is a very large number of women and even though it is more common for older women to suffer from hair loss, A majority of which deals with menopause, a large number of younger women also are plagued by hair loss. In this article we have a few of the causes of hair loss in women that are known today.
The main causes for women to start losing hair prematurely are related to the same factors, which results in hair loss in men. As for men, women may lose their hair because of their age, because of their genetic build, or because they have a problem with their hormone levels. But along with these hair loss causes, there are other factors, which can cause hair loss in women.
However, below we are going to be taking a closer look at some of the medical causes for hair loss in women today. As long as the right diagnosis is provided by a woman’s doctor or dermatologist then this particular health problem can then be treated.
1. Some women begin to lose their hair because they are suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome which is a very common hormonal problem that many women suffer from today. In some cases, the only way a doctor is able to diagnose that they are suffering from this particular health condition is because the woman has begun to lose hair.
2. Another reason why some women may be losing hair is because they are undergoing some form of treatment because they are suffering from an autoimmune disorder. In cases like this, the hair loss can be quite dramatic in some cases it comes out in large clumps or patches.
3. There is a medical condition that may cause temporary hair loss in women, this being Telogen Effluvium. This type of hair loss may occur from changes in a woman’s hormone levels due to a traumatic event in the women’s life. Some examples of this may include Child birth, crash diets, surgery, or any other traumatic event that has happened to them.
It is important that before any type of treatment is taken a medical doctor should be consulted. You will want to do this for a few reasons, primarily because the doctor will be able to find the underlying cause of the hair loss to be treated. This also works in your favor as you will not be doing something that may cause the problem to become worse.
Above we have gone over only a few of the causes of hair loss in women, this does not mean that you will suffer from any of these. If you do happen to have excessive hair loss you should seek medical advice to determine the cause. You should note that some hair loss is natural and part of the aging process.
There are many other causes of hair loss in women that could be the source of your hair loss. If you are tired of hair loss, as I was, visit this site that deals in hair loss GrowHairToday.com.
