Getting rid of acne pimples is a problem faced by many individuals especially teenagers. Most of the time when acne pimples, blackheads and whiteheads pops up on teenagers faces, neck, shoulders and backs are as a result of puberty kicking in.

Now for most teenagers and adults too, when faced with acne their first reaction is to run and find the nearest drug store or pharmacy to try and find a quick fix solution to get rid of acne pimples and other forms of acne symptoms.

While these over the counter drugs may help, they are not permanent. They will clear up the skin and remove the acne for a while but in a short period of time the pimples, blackheads and white heads will just take back residence on your skin.

What I have found out is that the drug and pharmaceutical companies are preying on our pockets. They have the greatest and most compelling advertisements about how they can do this and that for you and in the long run they never really deliver.

On the other hand natural cures do work. It has been proven that using natural holistic treatments to get rid of acne is far more effective than using creams and various prescriptions and over the counter drugs. You should be aware that most of the drugs and creams that people use to treat their acne also contains chemicals that can worsen acne and deteriorate your skin.

Holistic treatments is a form of total body cleanse, it involves the right diet and the right attitude towards body hygiene. Holistic treatments are administered to clean clogged pores and remove the blackheads and whiteheads from deep within the skin. It will also get rid of acne pimples and permanently cure acne. However the time period for the healing and cleansing process may differ from individuals to individuals depending on how well the treatment is administered and how terrible the acne is.

Being bombarded with so many different types of acne treatments everyday, how do you know what is right for you?

It is recommended that you don’t just go and spend you hard earn cash on a product because it claims to be the best (remember it is their job to do that to make sales).

Always read the entire sales pitch, see what the product guarantees and how will you benefit from the product. Check to see if there are any testimonials as this gives you an idea of what you can expect and you can also look for contact information which you can always send a nudge to see if you would get a response. Another important thing to look for is if they offer a money back guarantee and the duration of the guarantee. Think about it who wants to buy a product that will not benefit them?

While no one can tell you how to spend your money you should try make make good decisions. Acne is a very devastating disease and can also lower self confidence and self esteem. Anyone with acne should seek help to get rid of acne pimples and other symptoms of acne in the shortest time possible.

Beauty Topics: Acne Skin Care

For most of us that take pride in the way we look, the thought of suffering with acne or Zits, may at first seem awful; although it undoubtedly causes distress, a number of topical remedies are available. A great deal of effort is going into research for a cure; now, some of these skin conditions are gradually being conquered. For those people that require treatment, the acne skin care products required fall broadly into a number of categories including:

*Preventative: Creams, lotions etc. to help cleanse and tone the skin

*Over-the-Counter: Treatments for conditions that do not require prescription

*Specialized, on-prescription acne products

Many skin care products are used as a measure to prevent acne; these include cleansers, make-up removers and other similar products that can help prevent the condition. Many people these days use products like this to maintain their skin; there use is not just confined to individuals who are suffer with the complaint. Some of these products are designed to act like an acne skin care product and act against the causes of this complaint; they work by limiting the production of sebum/oil and prevent clogging of skin pores. These types of products are reducing the chance of oil staying in the pores and aiding the growth of harmful bacteria which assists the formation of the skin condition.

This type of skin care treatment also includes those which exfoliate such as skin peels; there is now a variety of this type of product available over the counter. This type of peel helps reduce the chance of oil clogging up the pores as well as removing other skin impurities; this can reduce the bacterium growth on your skin. The growth of the skin care market has allowed even more specialized acne skin care products to be available without the need to visit the doctor. A bacterium that aids the formation of acne is stopped by creams and cleansers that contain benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid; these include creams, cleansers and peels that slow down acne formation.

Although benzoyl peroxide works well, reactions can happen so it is suggested that any skin care product containing this should not have more than 5.5 percent of the active ingredient; alpha-hydroxy-acid based moisturizers are a safer skin care regime alternative if there is a problem. As with any type of zit cream, you may need to try a few acne skin care products until you find one that will suit your skin; if finding something that works is proving difficult, your dermatologist should be able to help. If you do need to see your doctor or skin care specialist then he may give you a prescription for antibiotics or special ointments.

Your doctor can recommend that in order to extract the contents of the pustules that a small surgical procedure could be carried out; this is not something you should ever attempt yourself. An alternative that has been shown to work well is hormone therapy; this type of skin care treatment has been very effective in many cases. Tackling this skin condition is not the problem it once was and if treated properly permanently marked skin does not have to happen.

It is widely used in cleansers, astringents and lotions. When it comes to eliminating whiteheads and blackheads, this medication is really effective.

d) Alpha-hydroxy Acids

c) Oral antibiotics

These drugs work within the body. Oral antibiotics are generally prescribed for a period of three years. These exterminate the bacteria that contribute to acne. However, they can even take many months to enhance the condition of skin. Erythromycin, tetracycline and minocycline are the most commonly prescribed antibiotics.
